81 From the book: A STORY OF THE GREATEST LIES 26 Emperor Vespasian became the founder of the Flavian dynasty. After the death of Nero, the Roman legions in the East proclaimed Vespasian. Vespasian's son Titus carefully prepared for the assault on Jerusalem. Vespasian, leaving his son Titus at the head of the army, hastened to Rome. The war continued for two more years and ended in 70 with the complete defeat of the Jews. The temple was taken by storm, plundered, and burned. Most of the defenders were killed, the survivors were taken, prisoner. Back in Rome, Titus celebrated his triumph with his father Vespasian and brother Domitian.
