JEWS FOR JUSTICE
The Anti-Defamation League, a nonprofit organization that monitors verbal and physical attacks against Jews in Europe, the Middle East, anti-Semitism worldwide, has recorded an alarming surge in South Asia, North Africa, and North America as tensions between Israel and Hamas fighters Gaza escalated earlier this month. Synagogues in various states have reported vandalism, swastikas and pro-Palestinian propaganda found at their prayer sites. In the US, the ADL said it received about 200 reports of possible anti-Semitic incidents, in addition to 131 in the week before the conflict. “Part of me wants to wear more Star of David necklace than I can now, so people know how proud I am of my faith,” Jewish model and lawyer Elizabeth Pipko told Fox News. ”At the same time, a small part of me wants to take a necklace in my shirt in case the wrong person sees it. It's a tough time to be Jewish in the United States right now, and to see a lot of ignorant hatred we see incredibly painful - although we are not used to it, "she said.
