83 From the book: A STORY OF THE GREATEST LIES 28 A new page began in the history of the Jewish people. Scattering for long, almost 2000 years. Suffering, persecution, rejection, execution, and reproach. The era of Christianity began, which did not want to put up with another monotheistic religion. Persecution, compulsion to convert to Christianity, enmity and contempt of the authorities was passed on to the common people. The Jews were accused of a multitude of sins and misfortunes that happened everywhere. Anti-Jewish legislation was passed, attacks by religious fanatics were encouraged, synagogues were ransacked, and the Jewish population was expelled and destroyed. After the destruction of the Temple and the expulsion, the Jewish dispersion split into several streams. The bulk went to Mesopotamia, settling where there was religious life. A large stream of Jews headed along the African north coast. To Egypt, Morocco, and further to the Iberian Peninsula to Spain. Another stream headed for the Balkan Peninsula, along the coast of the Black Sea and Crimea, from there along the Dnieper to Kyiv. Many Jewish colonies arose in Rome, Northern Italy, France, Germany, and many other cities.
